Ipswich Town FC 1977-78 Retro Football Shirt

For a club used to being a top six fixture in the English top flight during this era, the 1977-78 League season represented something of disappointment for Ipswich, with a lowly 18th place finish, just 3 points above the relegation zone.

Few supporters were unduly worried, however, as this easonwas all about the glorious FA Cup run that culminated in a memorable Wembley victory Cardiff City, Harlepool, Bristol Rovers, Millwall and West Bromwich Albion were all defeated en route to a final to tie against Arsenal. The London side were favourites, but it was Ipswich Town who brought home the trophy thanks to a second-half winner from Roger Osborne.
