Watford FC 1983-84 Retro Football Shirt

A historic season for Watford who reached the FA Cup final for the first time in the clubs history. Curiously their toughest fixture came early on in the Third Round when it took two hard fought games to overcome near rivals Luton Town.

Subsequent rounds proved more straight forward for Graham Taylors men and Charlton, Brighton and Birmingham City were all comfortable to overcome to put the Hornets in a semi-final against third tier Plymounth Agryle. A George Reilly goal settled the tie taking Watford to Wembley and a final against Everton. John Barnes, Les Taylor and Mo Johnston all had chances, but it was the Merseyside outfit that ultimately triumped 2-0.
