Former club playing legend Fabio Capello took over from Arrigo Sacchi in 1991 and ushered in a new era with a more pragmatic style, one that proved to be hugely effective and brought extraordinary succes over the next decade.
The 1993-94 brought a third successive Serie A title with a low-scoring but defensively impregnable side - Milan never scored more than two goals in any one gameand only once conceded more than a single goal, but the highlight was a fifth European Cup/Champions League win with an inspirational performance of the ages in the Final to crush Barcelona 4-0.
